about us

Hudson River Tattoo was opened in January 2011 by Eric Edward and Pamela Grande. After traveling back and forth for years from their home in NYC to their weekend escape in the Catskills, Eric and Pamela decided they should open a shop of their own so they could live upstate full-time. There were no professional tattoo shops in the area at the time, meaning people had to travel 40 minutes north or south to get quality body art. Hudson River Tattoo, with its small Warren Street storefront, began to fill that void.

Eric worked at Anchor Steam Tattoo in his hometown of Newport, RI before moving to NYC in 2000. There, he spent the next decade working at various shops around the city, including Daredevil Tattoo, True Blue Tattoo, and Big Joe and Sons in White Plains, NY.

Pamela started her career as a bartender at hotspots around NYC - from Coney Island High to the Continental to Otto's Shrunken Head. She fell into the tattoo world at Rising Dragon, where she managed for Darren Rosa for years.

Together, Eric and Pamela want Hudson River Tattoo to be a shop where anyone can walk in and feel at home, and where everyone that sits down in a chair will feel confident that they are getting first-rate work.
